Aromatherapy (AT) is a complementary therapy recently used in the perianesthetic period. However, the scientific data on its effectiveness are limited. The aim of this systematic review is to present and analyze the results of all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that studied the effectiveness of AT as a complementary treatment for postoperative pain.
Aromatherapie (AT) is een aanvullende therapie die sinds kort in de perianesthesie wordt toegepast. De wetenschappelijke gegevens over de doeltreffendheid ervan zijn echter beperkt. Het doel van deze systematische review is het presenteren en analyseren van de resultaten van alle gerandomiseerde gecontroleerde trials (RCTs) die de effectiviteit van AT als aanvullende behandeling van postoperatieve pijn onderzochten.
